Class 4 (Pre-trip) – Taxi

Class 4 Pre trip Taxi

Class 4 Pre trip Taxi inspections can be done in any sequence, but to prevent missing items, you should make a habit of doing them in the same order each time.

You may keep yourself out of risky circumstances and avoid negative professional and legal repercussions by performing a thorough pre-trip check.

Performing a pre-trip inspection is an essential part of driving any vehicle, especially a taxi. A pre-trip inspection can help identify any potential problems with the vehicle before they become major issues while driving. Here are the steps you should follow to conduct a pre-trip inspection for a taxi:

  1. Check the Exterior: Walk around the outside of the vehicle and inspect the tires, lights, and mirrors. Make sure the tires are properly inflated, the lights are working correctly, and the mirrors are adjusted to the correct position.
  2. Check the Interior: Get inside the vehicle and check that the seats, seatbelts, and windows are clean and functioning properly. Make sure the emergency brake, accelerator, and brake pedals are working correctly, and the dashboard warning lights are off.
  3. Check the Engine: Open the hood and inspect the engine oil level, coolant level, brake fluid level, power steering fluid level, and windshield washer fluid level. Make sure there are no leaks or signs of damage to the engine components.
  4. Check the Cabin: Check that the air conditioning and heating system is functioning properly. Make sure the radio, GPS, and other equipment are working correctly.
  5. Check the Safety Equipment: Check that the fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and other safety equipment are present and in good condition.
  6. Check the Brakes: Test the brakes by driving the taxi at a low speed and applying the brakes gently. Make sure the brakes are responsive and not making any unusual noises.
  7. Check the Suspension: Test the suspension by driving the taxi over a speed bump or rough terrain. Make sure the suspension is not making any unusual noises and is providing a smooth ride.
  8. Check the Steering: Test the steering by driving the taxi at a low speed and making sure the vehicle responds to the steering wheel correctly.
